Jerry is a complete doll. His foster family loves him so much. He has been great with every dog he’s met, great with kids, a total love bug, and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He is weary of strangers, but just in an uncertain way and not aggressive. He is getting a little more confident with every introduction to the neighbors and friends.

Most of the time Jerry is happy go lucky, and basically plays all day and sleeps like a log all night. If he’s outside, he is bringing you balls and running and jumping for joy. His favorite thing is to just let loose and run as fast as he can, making giant leaps. He is of course, not great with heat so after he wears himself out, he immediately wants to go into the air conditioning. Jerry really loves having a big yard. We believe that would be one of his top priorities. LOL

Even with plenty of walking and outdoor running around, when Jerry is inside he’s playing most of the time and throwing his balls himself so he can chase them. He does not often run into people while playing, but he does trample toes all day long. He wants to be near one of his people 100% of the time. Wherever you are, he will be pretty much glued to you either pushing his ball into you, or asking for snuggles. When he has to be separated from you, he takes it pretty well and just lays down waiting.

Jerry has access to his crate while his foster family is at work, but they no longer close the door because he prefers to chill out on one of the big dog beds. He has never gotten into or destroyed anything. He is still very much a puppy and sometimes needs reinforcement about not mouthing on hands while snuggling. He is super gentle with his mouth and has never hurt a hand by mistake, it is simply gentle puppy mouthing and he listens when you tell him “no mouth”.

Jerry is working on his fear of getting into cars and at this point still requires two people, a ramp, and encouragement. With some more practice and good experiences, we fully expect him to enjoy the car one day soon. All in all, he is a joy and a gentle sweetheart who loves his people and wants to please everyone.
