Meet Rufus!

Rufus is the bestest goofy  boy!  He still has plenty of puppy energy and enjoys running around, playing outside, chasing balls and showing toys who's boss.  Stuffed toys don't stand a chance against Rufus but it definitely isn't his fault, they clearly "spontaneously combusted," or at least that's what he told me!

Rufus is eager to please and quick to pick up new training skills.  He can obey commands both verbally and with hand signals.  At some point before coming into the rescue/becoming a stray I would say he definitely had some type of formal training.  Rufus gets easily distracted especially in new environments but with continued training and time, I believe he will be excellent with his manners.

Rufus loves absolutely everyone he meets!  He is being fostered in a home with a crawling infant and crazy 3 year old and has nothing but affection and patience for them.  Giving kisses is one of his favorite things when it comes to tiny humans.  Keep in mind that he is still a puppy and clearly has no idea how big he and lacks any kind of grace.  He plays excellent with younger children and toys, often playing tug of war with my toddler.  Rufus has no toy aggression and both his foster parents, foster dog and human siblings can take a toy from him with no issues at all.

Rufus is excellent with all dogs (medium to large breeds) that have come in and out of my house.  He is a very active dog who loves to play with his whole body so keep in mind he can become easily annoying to older dogs.  With that being said he is submissive and takes correction from other dogs easily.  He shares toys easily and enjoys playing chase!

Rufus is crate trained and can rest in his crate without whining or trying to break out.  He knows his crate command and will easily enter at his own will.  He loves all food, especially fruits and vegetables!  Rufus is also potty trained and although his foster family almost always has someone home he can be in the crate for several hours without issue.

Although Rufus is a bundle of energy he also is a wonderful snuggly boy who loves any and all affection.

Rufus will make an excellent addition to any home and can't wait to join your family!!
