Hi! My name is Roxie and I’m a petite 40lb Rottie mix that is looking for my fur-ever home! I walk well on a leash, get along well with cats (I have 2 kitty sisters) and other dogs, and I’m crate trained although I don’t use one now. My foster family has a bed for me in the living room and I am content to hang out there most of the time.

No one really knows about my past, but my foster humans are sure that I wasn’t given the love and attention I deserved. They think I was most likely abused and neglected before coming to live with them. Because of my past, I am very shy and a fearful of new surroundings and need a patient person that will give me time to adjust to new people and situations.

Don’t think that just because I’m slow to warm to new situations means that I don’t want to get out and about!  My foster mom has been taking me on car rides, shopping trips to Pet Co, and on walks in the park! At first, I was scared of the car rides. Now, I like to sit up and look out of the windows. I am even getting close to sticking my head out of the window!  I’m still a bit nervous when we go on outings, but I’m starting to realize that going out equals a fun time.  I really like this place called Starbucks- have you heard of it? They give me something called a Pup Cup that is the best thing ever!

I will need to have a calm home because I get nervous with a lot of noise and activity. So, preferably a home with either no children or older ones. I am quiet, low key and gentle when taking a treat. I am a girl that likes her privacy when eating my meals, so don’t be surprised if I don’t chow down while you are around.  I will make a great companion and I hope to find my forever family soon! If you think you want to be my human, please fill out an application and I look forward to meeting you!
