Beau is a rare gem!!  His story starts when he was found as a stray and placed in a high kill city shelter.  He was never reclaimed and was pulled by SSRR right before Christmas.  Shelter workers described him as "very affectionate" and "an absolute sweetheart" - he was a shelter favorite!  Beau went into a foster home where he was going to be adopted but his adopters backed out at the last minute citing that they didn't have enough time to dedicate to a young dog.

While in foster care Beau was professionally trained and he has excelled with learning many commands.  Some of the commands he has learned are: watch, sit, down, stay, leave it, hup (jump into the car), place (go to his place in the house that is only his space), off, heel and find heel (if you see something up ahead and want more control over him, you can give him the “find heel” command and he’ll come to the closer heel position on the left side and walk with you).  He also knows hand signals to some of these commands.  His trainer described Beau as "VERY lovable" and that he "will make a great pet".  Being a young dog, Beau will need a home that will re-enforce and continue his training.   He needs some redirection and guidance when he gets excited but he is eager to please and will take correction easily and follow your lead.

Beau is an active dog and will need structure and exercise in his daily life.  He would be great for someone who enjoys the outdoors and would love to accompany his new family on hikes, walks out in the neighborhood or for a nice run.  He would be a great candidate for someone who would like to have an agility dog - Beau thrives on having a job and will accept any challenge he is presented with.

Beau LOVES to play!!  Whether playing with toys or other dogs Beau loves to keep busy.  In his previous foster home Beau went to doggie daycare where he would always get glowing reports.  Beau has also gone to dog parks where he goes around and calmly greets all the people.  Everyone thinks he’s a gorgeous and well behaved dog!

Don't let this magnificent Rottweiler slip thru your fingers!!  Fill out an Adoption Application and bring your new best friend home!
